Re: Does Tooltwist use Applets?
This is a common question from many people who have seen a Tooltwist application. The user interface is so rich, and so un-weblike that people assume that applets are being used.
The answer is... NO.
In past versions of Tooltwist there was an extremely lightweight Applet used to provide communication with the server. This was necessary because not all browsers commonly in use supported the underlying API required for AJAX to work.
New applications developed in Tooltwist have no Applets.
